REVIEW: Alima Mineral Makeup

I have really hit the jackpot with great products lately. I have found the best mineral makeup EVER! This makeup is from Alima Cosmetics, as an older post says, I tried sheer cover and it was terrible, itchy etc, So I read some reviews on makeup alley, and decided to try Alima. They have samples for $1 each so you can finnd your perfect match. I got my samples, tried my colors and it went on smoothly, covered my imperfections and kept my face matte for hours with no irritation!! My only complaint is that shipping to Canada takes a very long time (2.5 weeks) and I didnt want to wait that long! I recommend this makeup!!

REVIEW: Kocco Nail Polish

I found my HG nail polish. I am stunned that Kocco polish lasted just over13 days  before I noticed a small chip! It also came off with polish remover very easily and did not stain (I use Orly Non-Acetone remover) Kocco is a designer nail polish that is only available in salons or spas, you won't find it at places like Shoppers drug mart or Zellers. I found it went on very smooth and creamy, (used 2 coats for full coverage) Its all natural and eco friendly. They are a fairly new brand, could not find too much on them except the info they have on their website, www.ilovekocco.com. If you find a salon or spa that carries Kocco, its well worth the buy, as your manicure will look so good and glossy for a long time!

REVIEW: Dan's Acne Regimine

I have struggled with acne for a while, and was using Clearogen, it suddenly stopped working and I started breaking out like crazy! So I started to try Dan's regimine. I read that you would initially break out before it got better, but I broke out so much I didnt even want to leave the house. I stopped using it right away and went back to Clearogen. Things cleared up for a couple weeks then I broke out SO BAD again like 20 huge pimples all over my chin and cheeks. It was terrible. Remembering the reviews of Dans Regimine on MakeupAlley, I decided to give it another shot. (I had nothing to lose, my face was already terrible!)

I started using it and my face totally cleared up! Here is what I did. I wash my face in the morning with the cleanser and then moisturize (I use Olay Original Hydrating Cream, because Dan's treatment will really dry out your skin and I have found this the best moisturizer, Dan's moisturizer really sucks!!) then I put my makeup on and continue my day.

At night time, I wash my face again with the cleanser, and then apply the Treatment. I put on a layer and let it dry about 10 minutes, then another thin layer and let it dry and then one more layer, let it dry and go to bed! Then in the morning, repeat the process.

It totally cleared my acne, I virtually have none! I recommend this for sure!

REVIEW: Nielle Nail Lacquer

I noticed Nielle Lacquer on Facebook when a fellow Facebook friend happened to click "like" on one of their photos. Having a mild nail polish obsession, I clicked on their site and started looking at their products.

I have to say I  like Nielle. Basically they are vegan, free of all the toxins (formaldehyde toluene etc) The colors are great, the selection is not huge. Great find if you are looking for a lesser price polish that does the trick.

REVIEW: Redken All Soft Shampoo & Conditioner

My new HG product! I have thick, coarse, curly long hair. I have yet (until now) to find a shampoo and conditioner that softens and lightens my hair. This does! After use my hair feels light and fluffy and soft and incredibly shiny. You must be careful not to use too much conditioner, otherwise your hair will feel heavy and get greasy quickly. I have yet to try the other products aside from the shampoo and conditioner, but now that I have started this line, I am not stopping anytime soon!

REVIEW: Sheer Cover Mineral Makeup

I WANT  to love this product,  but I just can't. I have tried using Sheer Cover (Latte & Buff) over the period of 1 month. The product itself goes on via brush (its a powered mineral) I use a face powder brush and spread it all over my face and the product actually provides excellent coverage. I find that I can put it on heavy or light depending on the day, it offers a great "glowing" look and stays on for hours. Now for the downside. This product contains Bismuth Oxychloride a known skin irritant. They use this because it helps give the glow and it allows the makeup to stay on better. Within 10 minutes of having Sheercover on my face, my skin got incredibly itchy and tingly. I would have to keep patting my face with a towel to prevent ruining the makeup by scratching. It eventually goes away, but for me, its not worth the hour itch fest, so now I am on the search for a new mineral foundation! I am ordering Geisha Ink and will do a review on that as soon as I try it out!
